Sintra truly is the place where God’s creation is highlighted. Every manmade structure seemed to echo God’s sovereignty by pointing towards the beauty of His creation. Sintra blew my breath away with the symbolism embedded around every corner. 

From Quinta da Regaleira, which attempted to bring the garden of Eden to life, to the city center, every square inch of this city was beautiful. However, what I found particularly captivating was Castelo dos Mouros. This castle appeared to mimic the Great Wall of China and offered a stunning view that stretched to the Atlantic Ocean. 

As I stood at the top, looking out into the distance, I couldn’t help but close my eyes, allowing the crisp wind to press against my skin, and cry out in awe of the work that God created. I often overlook the magnitude of His creation because of its familiarity. However, when we take a moment to listen to the sounds of nature, feel the wind on our skin, and listen to God’s voice in the form of His creation, it can remind us of the ultimate sovereignty that went into creating this diverse and breathtaking earth we call home.
